Senior Minister Hon. Yaw Osafo Maafo, has lamented that the new patriotic party (NPP) government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo are going to spend more money on the Free Senior High Education Policy.
People are complaining that we are spending too much money on the free Senior High School policy. we will spend more if necessary he stated
The best way to use Ghana’s oil resources is to use that resources to educates Ghana children. That is the best way everybody benefits from the oil resources, you do not allowed individuals to find their own ways of serving themselves.
We should used the resources of this country to educates the children’s of this country and known matter how much it cost it’s bitter to used because at the end of the day the development of Ghana depends on the development of education of the nation.
Senior Minister Osafo Maafo addressing at Offinso College of Education 12th graduation ceremony on a theme; ‘Equipping the 21st Century Teacher for Quality Education, said government sees education as the surest vehicle through which we can expedite development and ensure greater quality especially in the area of poverty reduction.
He said young generation and the only way to optimizes this capital is through education which had relevance in the 21st century. The flagship Free SHS has expanded access and 300,000 young people who would otherwise have missed secondary education are presently in school.
Senior Minister announced that, the avoidable and unjustifiable delay of teachers in terms of salary adjustment is now going to be a thing of the past. Cabinet has established a committee under his chairmanship and they are going to work and reform the Human resources management information system so that government can pay teachers and indeed all government workers employees with in two (2) months after they have been posted to start work.
He therefore assured the teachers out there, especially those who were engaged as part of Double Track System but have not been paid yet that the wait will soon be over as government work around the clock to pay all outstanding salaries, allowance and other entitlements by the of the month of August, 2019.
