In their quest to ensure that every school going child have access to good education in a conducive environment, a non-governmental organisation called Enliven Mama Africa, sponsored by Umar Malik on behalf of the UK Supporter, build a ultra-modern 9-unit classroom block complex at the cost of about GHC246,600 for the Atwima- Boko Islamic Primary School in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The magnificent project was inaugurated,fully furnished with toilet facilities, ceiled and fixed with fans in all the 9-classrooms. However, 240 mono-desks coupled with over 250 pieces of school uniforms also supplied by the NGO.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Enliven Mama Africa, Mr.Maxwell Donkor said his outfit prime motive was to put smiles on the faces of school children and the only way they can do that, was to build educational facility to elevate children from traveling long distance to assess education and also support government’s agenda since government alone cannot provide the needs of the public. The leader of Umar Malik group, Umar Malik told the and sundry that their outfit is focusing mainly on the Zongo Communities with the core aim of bringing education closer to children living in these communities. Hence thanked the chiefs and people of the community for giving their concern and time to them.
Dignitaries present were the District Chief Executive, the District Coordinating Director, Education Director, rep of the chief of Atwima Kwanwoma, Chief Imam of Atwima-Boko and all people from all walks of lives graced the occasion.
The District Executive, Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi thanked Enliven Mama Africa and it partners for putting up such ultra -modern edifice in support of the district quest to building more schools to absorb the increasing number of students in the district. Adding he admonished the people of the Zongo and teaching and non-teaching body to make good use of the project of ensuring proper maintenance culture for the facility to stay longer.
According to him, the president of the Republic…Nana Akufo Addo has assured Ghanaians to resource every child education and that plans are far-fetched where the assembly will soon enrol out policies that would make sure that every child are being in school.
Speaking on behalf of the District Education Director…Mr. Victor deGraft Etsison by the director in charge of supervision and monitoring, Ms. Abena Konadu, lauds the NGO for the step took but later expressed concerned about our maintenance culture and charged authorities to ensure the facility is well maintain.
She also used the occasion to appeal to other institutions and NGO ‘S to emulate the charity work of Enliven Mama Africa and also contribute their individual quota toward building better Ghana for the future of our children.
