Misty Foundation, a non-governmental organization has organized a free health
screening exercise for residents of Mowire in Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region.
More then 500 people have benefited a one day free medical screening organized by Misty Foundation
The medical screening covered Hepatitis B, Malaria, Diabetes, blood pressure etc where medications were also given free of charge to the residents.
The Executive Director of Misty Foundation Mr. Gyesi Danso (Misty) in an interview with Fox Fm news said the foundation had gathered data about the health needs of the people and they have come in to support them free of charge.
“We have decided to come here to screen them for Hepatitis B, Blood group, Breasts Cancer and Diabetes and also to give the medications for such illness when discovered”.
Ishaq Yakubu a leader of the medical team who is also the chief executive officer of Mallam bridge company limited said the team has selected Mowire community because of the need they have identified.
He advised the general public against taking in too much sugary food and cultivate the habit of regular visit to the nearby hospital for treatment. He said the common disease their identity is blood pressure and also advised them to stop eaten in the night and urged to embarks on daily exercise for their blood pressure to be normal.
