The former revenue subcommittee converter of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly who doubles as the sub metro Chairman for Manhyia north has called for the amendment of article 243 section 1 of the constitution before the referendum.
Hon Patrick Kwame Frimpong the immediate past assembly member for Krofrom East electoral area and an aspirant does not see the need to rush to the pools whilst the basic knowledge of the issue has been lost on the people.
Hon Patrick Frimpong ask if what Ghanaians need is the politicization of the district assembly elections for the president to still appoint the Metropolitan, Municipal and district chief executives?
He is of the view that what the people need most is the election of the MMDCE’S of which the authorities have been silent about.
According to Hon Patrick the entrench position been adopted by NPP and NDC on the yes and no mantra is even a clear warming to the electorates not to be swayed.
As of his stand with regards to the referendum the aspiring assembly member advocated for a no vote on December 7th.
On the assembly member elections to be held on 7th December alongside the referendum, he called for a more identity for the aspirants by way of providing an area where a figure will be written to identify the position of the aspirants.
