Naomi Campbell couldn’t be this excited as she was crowned the fashion icon as big names around the entertainment world trod the red carpet at The Fashion Awards which took place on Monday 2,2019.
The event which took place at London’s Royal Albert Hall was hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross, the daughter of Diana Ross.Legendary pop musician, Janet Jackson graced the occasion to give out the award for Urban luxe which for the first time Fenty brand designed by singer Rihanna won.
Campbell, who is one of the original supermodels from the 90s, wore an Alexander McQueen dress in the so-called “nearly naked” trend and was presented with her icon award by Sir Jony Ive
Giorgio Armani was recognised for his outstanding achievement in the fashion industry as his was award by actresses, Cate Blanchett and Julia Roberts, who were both wearing his designs.
On the other hand, designer of the year went to Englishman Daniel Lee for his work on the Bottega Veneta brand, whiles South Sudanese-Australian star Adut Akech won model of the year which she took the opportunity in her awards speech to call for greater diversity in the fashion industry.
