A woman named,Adowa Boatemaa who hails from Asante Bekwai but a resident at Agona Yamoase together with other family members have been denied their share in late brother’s properties.
In her narration on “NYA ASEM HWE” programme hosted by Mmrantihene Afari Yeboah on Fox FM, their family wasn’t financially stable which they decided to send their late brother Kwabena overseas with the help of their late elderly brother’s money, he made in Nigeria when he was alive, which after 20 years, bought a land in Buokrom and built on it.
According to her,Kwabena wasn’t married when he was establishing all those properties which he lived in with their late elderly brother’s daughter, Vivian and twin siblings, but later he got married to a woman called Maame Serwaa and brought forth three kids but got divorced along the way because her brother became paralysed and was using crouches.
Madam Adowa added that, her brother’s wife never stepped foot into the house after their divorce, neither did she visit her kids until she got to know of his death.Upon her arrival, she sacked everybody from the house using police arrest as threat.
She therefore seeks the help of Mmrantihene and team to help them get their share of the properties even though their brother didn’t leave behind any will, but made it known that he built houses for his family.
Madam Boatemaa again claimed she needs her share because during his brother’s funeral she had to sell her cocoa farm and go for loan to help complete the rites which needs to be settled.
Debunking the claims,Maame Serwaa admitted she parted ways with her late husband due to his untamed attitude, but they later resolved their differences and came back as husband and wife and said Madam Boatemaa never stepped foot in their house before when her husband was alive.
