Security situation in the Ashanti Region in recent times leaves much to be desired as incidents of killings and armed robbery have assumed an alarming rate.
Theses have become sources of worries to inhabitants of the city and its surrounding new-sites,which are springing up by the day.
Traditional leaders in the Region are therefore calling on the security agents in the Region to be up and doing, since they can not sit down unconcerned for innocent lives to be lost at such an alarming rate.
The media as part of their role of giving out information and educating their listeners and the general public have also join the train with the assertion that security needs to be strengthened within the region.
On fox morning drive on Friday,14th Feb 2020,hosted by Bernard Owusu-Ansah(a.k.a Agya Owusu), Mr.Afrifah Yamoah Ponko a former MCE for Ejisu-Juabeng has called on Assembly Members to volunteer information on security and crime to the Police and other security services within the region to aid their work at fighting crime.
According to him, Assembly Members hold first hand information on security intelligence within their communities since they know every nook and cranny criminals operate from .
In the opinion of Mr. Yamoah Ponko, though security is a shared responsibility, the police and other relevant security services must collaborate with Assembly members in nibbling the canker i the bud.
